Best Technology for Elite Performance

At the London ceremony last night, SBG RaceWatch race strategy system picked up the Yahoo Sports Technology Award in the category of Best Technology for Elite Performance. Termed as the Oscars of Sports Technology, the competition for the awards was fierce in every category, with entries representing 50 sports from 30 countries.

Gareth Griffith, SBG Sports Software CEO, said “We are thrilled to have won this award amongst such prestigious industry figures, innovators and international athletes. We began developing RaceWatch over ten years ago as the first solution for Formula 1 teams to visualise strategic data and view race video in one place. As we continue to innovate in performance analysis and visualisation systems for elite teams and federations, this award recognises our commitment to supporting strategy and safety in international sport.”

The YSTA judges commented on RaceWatch by saying, “Top sports require the ultimate data, and this is a performance analyst’s dream. Setting a world-class benchmark in its field… it’s a fantastic product – excellent work!”

Rebecca Hopkins, CEO of the Awards said ‘The Yahoo Sports Technology Awards is now unequivocally the sector’s ultimate accolade and is recognized as a mark of excellence internationally. This year really was especially ground-breaking in terms of the technologies which won; our judges, who aren’t prone to hyperbole, noted that winning entries were radically changing the sector – even to the point of saving athletes’ lives.’
